On July 21st, 2021, the DC Chapter held an in-person event at the 1757 Golf Club in the Data Center Capital of the World! The event was kicked off by Buddy Rizer who serves as the Executive Director for economic development in Loudoun County, Virginia. Buddy leads the agency responsible for encouraging growth and developing relationships with Loudoun’s business community in both the commercial and agricultural-based business sectors and spoke about the growth and development of Loudoun County during COVID.
The event was then followed by a panel discussion moderated by our very own 7×24 Exchange Chairman & CEO, Bob Cassiliano, with panelists including Alexis Lane from Facebook, Lane Anderson from QTS, and Mark Dumas from HITT Contracting. The panel discussed the lasting impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic on the data center industry and the changes implemented which will remain and benefit their employees going forward. The audience also chimed in with questions on supply chain issues and how they are being addressed.
After an hour of knowledge sharing all participants were able to network and visit the sponsored vendor tables. Lots of food, drinks and conversations were had by all in attendance!
