During WIC Week 2022, Sara was recognized by Construction Dive Magazine as a Rising Star in the Construction Industry.
Supporting Women in STEM
Outside of her work with Meta, Wengrowski has a passion for uplifting women interested in careers related to construction, data centers, and STEM fields. Sara is a graduate of, and former graduate mentor for, the Reilly-Douglass Engineering Living and Learning Community, a program at her alma mater (Rutgers University) designed to encourage, support, and retain young women in engineering degree programs. “I was fortunate to meet advocates, allies, and mentors who saw potential in me, who added a seat to the table and opened doors for me. I hope to do the same for the next generation of professionals.”
Involvement with 7×24 Exchange & WIMCO
Sara was encouraged by a colleague to attend a local 7×24 Exchange Greater Washington D.C. Chapter event, where she met leaders, experts, and peers in the industry. At this first event, Sara was introduced to another young woman in the industry, who she later partnered with to develop an organization for young and new professionals in the Data Center/Mission Critical Industry. The Data Center Young Professionals of D.C., Maryland, and Virginia was created as a method for developing meaningful professional relationships, grow the knowledge base of new folks in the industry, and establish a robust network of supportive peers. Sara spoke about the development of communities for Young Professionals to drive engagement in the Mission Critical fields during the 2022 Fall Conference!
