Breakout C: Upgrading a DC Capacity in a Live Environment

[view session info]

Quebec's leading consultant for critical computer centres, he is the first Engineer in Quebec to receive the Uptime accredited TIER designer certification. Michel Chartier has been sharing his knowledge with the Quebec engineering community for several years as a lecturer at different conferences. He is also a chronicler for Quebec's reference magazine for electrical and lighting engineering decision makers; "Electricite Quebec'', as well as for "Direction Informatique"; Quebec's top magazine for IT decision-makers.

Michel Chartier has practiced electrical engineering in the UPS area for over 20 years. He worked as a legal engineer doing fire expertise reports while he was still a student. He then became an electrical supply engineer for Bell Canada, where he developed an expertise in UPS, grounding networks and harmonics problems. In 1994, he co-founded "Les Consultants Emtech" with Eric Stephenne. This company merged with another to become the electromechanical consulting firm we know today as Kelvin Emtech. It is within this company that Michel Chartier refined his UPS knowledge and developed his expertise in the design of high density computer rooms.
