Mr. Solberg is a mechanical engineer within the IDC Architects (IDCA) Critical Environment group. He has led the engineered systems modeling group for the past 10 years. He applies computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling to develop design solutions that optimize features of advanced technology facilities, mission critical facilities, and high performance buildings (green buildings.) He also has performed detailed hydraulic analysis of large campus hydronic systems, including chilled water systems, condenser water systems, heating water systems, glycol systems, and fuel oil systems. His presentations include Incorporating Green Ventilation Design into Building Projects, Sustainable Development Conference Presentation Reno, NV and Airflow Modeling Applications in the Microelectronics and Pharmaceutical Industries, Flovent Airflow Modeling Seminar. Mr. Solberg has co-authored Enhancing Cleanroom Design with Airflow Modeling, Cleanrooms Magazine (April 2002) and currently co-authored, with David Seger, an article on the benefits of using computational fluid dynamics for evaluation of the impact of the outside environment on the design of data center facility. Mr. Solberg holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno, and he is LEED accredited.
